# Lode rules

- For UI work, search Lode UI first (MCP server `lode` or https://lodeui.com/llms.txt). Install with the shadcn CLI; never paste component source by hand.
- Read an item's doc (`get_component` or https://lodeui.com/components/<name>/markdown) before using it. Do not invent props.
- Style with tokens (`bg-background`, `text-foreground`, `text-muted-foreground`, `border-border`, `bg-brand`), never raw hex colors.
- One primary action per region. Every list has empty, loading and error states.
- Keyboard: everything focusable, visible focus, Escape closes overlays, focus returns to the trigger.
- Motion under 400 ms, explains a change, and respects `prefers-reduced-motion`.
- Check 375, 768 and 1280 px in light and dark before calling it done. No horizontal scroll.
- Keep `LODE_API_KEY` in `.env.local`; never commit it.
